A number of Italian families arrived in the 1920's to work at Holmes Foundry. They had responded to an advertisement in Northern Italy whereby Holmes Foundry requested "foundrymen". Holmes foundry was in need of this specialized workforce. Description An account of the resource Homes Foundry placed advertisements in northern Italy in the 1920's to recruit foundry workers. 10 to 15 families arrived and were housed in row housing on Berkley Street, near Holmes Foundry.
