Work opportunities in Sarnia-Lambton: 1939 Employee pass from the Canadian National Railway

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mezzatesta's 1939 pensioned Employee pass from the Canadian National Railway.

This employee pass for this Italian immigrant labourer and his wife, who lived in Sarnia. He had been employed by the Canadian National Railway prior to 1939.

The photograph was donated by the Mezzatesta family for the historical project of 1988-1991. The project was a physical pictorial exhibit realized by the Italo-Canadian Cultural Club of Sarnia-Lambton in 1989. The collection was expanded for the publication of "One by One...Passo dopo passo... History of the Italian Community in Sarnia-Lambton" in 1991.

The photograph was collected c.1988 to 1990. The rights were given by the Mezzatesta family to the Italo-Canadian Cultural Club of Sarnia-Lambton. In 2016 the rights of this collection was transferred to Italian-Canadian Archives Project (ICAP).
