Upon arriving in Canada in April of 1957, Domenico Rocca joined the Labourer's Union Local 1089 in Sarnia. He paid his dues monthly. The scanned booklet shows three years of dues recorded with stamps. 1957, 1958 and 1959. Most of the Italian men who arrived in Sarnia-Lambton in the 1950s joined this union as means of finding employment.
